Robert’s musical career began when he started taking accordion lessons when he was eight years old. When he was 12, he began to learn the organ, and he bought his first keyboard when he was 14. At around the same time, he set up a musical trio with neighbourhood friends. When he was 17 he got together with his friend Jürgen on guitar in his first band with proper gigs at dance bars, garden parties and birthday parties. Their duo, “Herzblatt”, became known throughout the Deggendorf region and they played at popular dance bars. Unfortunately, the band had to split up when Robert’s career took him to Munich to play drums in the Bundespolizeiorchester München (Police Orchestra, Munich). After just a short time, he found out that one of his colleagues in the music corps, Andreas Leinweber, had the same musical interests in the field of entertainment – that was the birth of the Coco Nut’s. Robert learnt to play the Styrian harmonica when he was 28 – it’s become his particular favourite and now nobody can imagine the Coco Nut’s’ show without it. |
